The tactics developed in recent years is to use vvvvery heavy sink tips
to get the fly down deep - say, 13-15meters down. The water is cold down
there, and Amemasu chars are feeding actively thru out the summer months.

Went to Sakura's falls, a popular tourist spot where you can view the sakuramasu
trying to jump over the waterfalls.
We have visited lake Akan many times over but never at the height of the
summer. Thought the water's now too warm for good flyfishing.
Shibetsu dake - one peak we wish to climb up one day.
We could spot several grizzly bears wandering along the beach.
Aug. 18th. We hopped onto a cruise boat from the port of Utoro for a change.
Aug. 20 was our last day. We did our best waking up at 6a.m., and went
to fish the rocks down by the Oshinkoshin falls.
