Visited Genkai Nada, in the north of Kyushu. The target was blue fin tuna that swims up the area chasing sardines. I only received a consolation prize but, heck, there surely will be another day.

September

The heat of summer still lingers on, but the dry air of autumn is being felt. On such a day under the blue sky, sight fishing for bream is at its best.
An even bigger trophy fish of 86cm fell to a lure - the bigger the bait fish becomes, the harder for a fly to entice a strike.
Exploring an utterly different game in a most unlikely place, right at the city center of Kohchi.
Tilapia, introduced about a decade ago from Africa, didn't win much popularity as a table fish. Well, we've gotta find another way to utilize the natural resources don't we?
Obon holidays

Our annual event, Mahi Mahi fishing in the bay of Tosa, Kohchi pref.
Visited my home town in Shikoku to enjoy the annual summer festival, and some fishing for a little diversion. Released with a tag.
Mid July

Jigging for the speedster of the inland sea - Yellow tail, or Buri, as they are called here in Japan.

Bream game heats up at the height of the summer - even our little one joined to cheer up her mum.
Early education would pay off in due course.
There weren't enough fish to grab at a fly so we had to rely on spinning gear this year. A good fun even on a spinning though.
A superb reward for a hard day's sighting. Black bream of handsome size, 48cm tagged and released to fight another day.

End of July

Visited the mountain streams in the north of Hiroshima after nearly 2 year's interval. A fantastic day to mark the end of the monsoon season.
Meanwhile I didn't fare well as far as large mouth bass fishing goes. Well I had two fish over 50cm mark bite my lure, but the hook didn't find home.
Buri were super eager to take any fast retrieved jigs, or a surface chugging poppers for that matter. What a superb game at our doorstep!! Yep, T&R nicely done.

Early July

Solid rain and flooding river are the winning formula - a fly caught 70cm seabass.
Sight fishing for black breams continues. They have a powerful set of jaws, enough to crush the stainless hooks!!
